New Partnership to Enhance Local Products in the Construction Sector and Revive the Trade Relationship Between Sohar Cement and Tasnim Concrete Products

(Oman, Sohar) – During November 2024, Sohar Cement Company, a subsidiary of Raysut Cement Group, announced the revival of its trade relations with Tasnim Concrete Products to enhance cement production capabilities in the Sultanate of Oman and meet the increasing market demands, especially in North Al Batinah, particularly in Sohar, where the region is witnessing numerous developmental projects. 

This initiative aims to bolster local products and increase local value in the Sultanate in line with both companies’ efforts to support the national economy and achieve sustainable growth in this vital sector.  

Through this partnership, the companies will work on developing joint projects focusing on high-quality cement produced by Sohar Cement, contributing to improving construction quality and reducing costs. 

This step is expected to contribute to realizing the Sultanate’s economic vision and enhancing reliance on local sources and industries, positively impacting the economy as a key driver of growth and development. 

Dr. Hilal bin Saif Al-Dhamri, Acting CEO of Raysut Cement Group, stated that the alliance with Tasnim Concrete Products reflects both companies’ commitment to enhancing growth and sustainability solutions. In this respect, we are setting a new standard for cement production not only to enhance product quality but also to align with the national goals for sustainable industrial development in the Sultanate of Oman. 

Haitham Al-Tai, Commercial Director of Raysut Cement Group, stated that this step reflects the partnership agreement’s commitment to Sohar Cement’s continuous expansion of its production capacity, improving product quality, adopting environmentally friendly practices, and increasing production to meet the rising demand in the construction and infrastructure sectors in Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. 

Mohit Kimji, CEO of Tasnim Concrete Products, remarked that the partnership with Sohar Cement would enhance innovation in the cement sector and respond to the increasing demand for concrete products at a time when the Sultanate of Oman is experiencing rapid urban growth and implementing numerous infrastructure projects. 

The cooperation between the two companies is expected to enhance competitiveness in the cement industry in the Sultanate of Oman, allowing local producers to supply high-quality products and reduce dependence on imported cement. The partnership agreement also aims to elevate Oman’s position as a key player in the cement market within the Gulf Cooperation Council and contribute to infrastructure projects in the region, residential projects, and other large-scale constructions, while enhancing knowledge transfer and innovation through the exchange of expertise and new technologies between the two companies and improving efficiency and sustainable practices across all their operations.
